The Life-Changing Impact of the Zanzibar Trip

I go by Eliya Yohana. I have been in the Climb for a Child program since it was founded. I believe the Zanzibar trip had a tremendous impact on my growth journey. It was my first time being so far from home, experiencing new cultures, and being a guest and a tourist in a completely new place. I encountered many things for the first time and tried new activities that I had previously feared, like swimming in the ocean and traveling by boat.

This transformative experience allowed me to overcome my fears and embrace new challenges. After the trip, my approach to challenges changed significantly. I no longer feared trying new things, and my confidence in my abilities grew. This newfound courage has helped me in many aspects of my life, from my studies to my personal growth. I used to be a shy little boy, but now, through this trip, I fell in love with the idea of traveling and have become a professional adventure photographer.

Additionally, being exposed to diverse experiences, such as tasting new foods and meeting different people, improved my awareness and understanding of the world around me. The trip broadened my perspective and helped me appreciate the richness of different cultures. I think it is so important for the upcoming generation to get a chance to travel, as it allows them to discover and develop new life skills. I am grateful for this opportunity, which has profoundly shaped my outlook on life and inspired me to continue exploring and learning.
