Building the Kitchen Coop

CHICKEN COOP

About two weeks ago, my friends and I were able to set up a chicken coop. There was also a technician to help us drive the nails into the wood. We used timbers, nails, galvanized iron, and nets to make the pavillion as well as hammers. I carried wood and drilled holes for setting thresholds. We also had to compact the soil to make it easier to dig holes, and we used hoes and machettes to dig those holes. I also measured the length and width of the timbers that we wanted the coop to be. It was quite hard to make the measurements accurate.

We spent about four days completing the construction of the coop. On the last day we got to eat icecream, and it felt good accomplishing something. It is also great to know that the chickens have a safe place to sleep.

The chicken coop helps in protecting the chicken at night and enables them to sleep in peace. There are 23 chickens, and both male and female chicken stay together in the coop.

Keeping chickens at home is very important, since we can get eggs from them and eat or sell them.
I can say it was a great opportunity, and I was happy to be able to contribute in building the coop in some ways. I wouldn’t want to keep chicken at my house in the future. This is because they poo every where, and this makes the evironment look dirty. I don’t want that at my home in the future.
